Cat, you should have learned by now that your constitutional rights are waived by entering high school. Your rights really are not an issue. I have never understood the justification for this, or even, for that matter, heard one. I think the idea is something like this: high school students are like insane cattle and cannot be treated as citizens, since they aren't. "Constitution be damned, it's a war zone out there. This is about education, rights go right out the window." I'd like to refer you to an appalling story posted on slashdot recently. The link is in the optional Link URL. I was not sure if I could type HTML into here. This story is from Texas, great state of our vaunted President, but the same mind-set applies. This story disgusts me, as someone who can identfiy with the kid. Anyway, that's the end of my second and final rant for today.
