Using Herndon Parkway to get to Sterling Rd/Old Ox, how badly does Herndon Parkway back up during rush hours - 6:30am - 7:30pm and 4:30pm - 6:00pm?
Thanks. |

| It's not great, but it's still the fastest way to get from one side of Herndon to the other, at least in the evening rush hour. The intersection you mention is the worst part of the drive if you're coming Elden street near Reston towards Sterling/Old Ox. |

| Crestview Dr is an alternate route from Herndon Parkway. |

I'll be getting on Herndon Parkway at Monroe (off Sunrise Valley Drive) and have to go to Pacific Blvd in Sterling. This seems to be the shortest distance.
Other than the Toll Road, are there any alternate routes that will get me to Pacific Blvd (off Old Ox)? |

Monroe Street - Frying Pan Road - Route 28 - Old Ox Rd - Pacific Blvd
The intersection of Frying Pan Road and Centreville Road is the only light at which you won't be making a turn. I believe all of the above are right turns when you start from the intersection of Monroe Street and Sunrise Valley Drive. Alternatively, you can just drive on Sunrise Valley Drive until it terminates at Frying Pan Road near Route 28. You'll end up going through the Dulles Corners office park.
