US Debt Clock
This, once the Bush Debt Clock, is now the Obama Debt Clock which is spinning out of control at 2-3 times faster than the Bush years. It is kind of interesting (in a perverse way) to watch the numbers race toward outer space, as with a shuttle launched from Cape Canaveral.
God save our children and grandchildren!

My signature line has said it for years. Yeah, it's a lot worse than ever now, and the present insane deficit really started taking off at the end of the Bush "tax cuts for more revenues" years. Post hoc ergo proctor hoc, I suppose, but the big-deficit habit goes back a lot further than that, to the early Reagan years. We have failed to pay our way for over a generation, and now we have merely multiplied the rate of implosion.
Living on borrowed money is not a sustainable way of life. And placing bogus numbers into the FED's balance spreadsheet, and then buying US Treasury notes with those electronic figures, isn't sustainable either. At some point we will have to cut the luxuries and pay the pipers, or we will have to act tough and tell our creditors to take a hike. I think we will try #2 first, and fail, and then fall back to #1. Certain connected people will be exempt from the pain, but the rest of us... oh boy. _________________ The national debt and the deficit are robbing your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ |
