He commanded Pharaoh on behalf of the God of Israel... "Let My People Go!"

....at least in terms of the biblical discription in the book of Exodus.

Now a new Pharaoh has risen in Egypt who has enslaved the flow of information. I believe that every human has the rights to the observe and engage in the freedom of information.

The US government as traditionally backed this dictator since the 1980's. in return Mubarak has used our tax dollars to oppress the people under his control and stimy the free flow of ideas and information.

I call upon the US to freeze all payments to the Government of Egypt and begin to freeze the bank accounts of GOE officials held in banks in the United States. Not one cent of a Free Man's tax should go to oppress the freedom of another.

I stand in solidarity with all the Free men and Woman in Egypt who struggle for peace, justice and equality.

From one sucessful revolution to one new born, I wish you all the best of luck. Remain strong, remain together! only the power of the people's will can win you your freedom.

I call upon Pharaoh Mubarak... LET MY PEOPLE GO!

My opinion is that foreign aid usually goes to the top layer of corrupt governments, who then do not feel that they need to listen to their own people.

Businesses then get that money back, because much of the aid money has to be spent on things from companies of the aiding nation. So it's really mostly corporate welfare.

Eventually we will have to stop playing this game, because we will not have anything to use for aid money. It will probably be an improvement.

Mubarak is a bad guy. The Muslim brotherhood being in charge of the country would be much worse. I'll stick with the lesser of two evils since evil is the only choice.

Mubarak will be 83 in May 2011. He will not reign forever. Who will replace him? Probably it will be the Muslim Brotherhood, or Mubarak's son Gamal, or Mohammed El-Baradei. And probably the Egyptian military will decide.

El-Baradei's name should be familiar - he was the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency for many years.
Google search on Mohammed El-Baradei

Here is an open letter to President Obama from leading scholars across America calling for the President to withdraw all support for Mubarak and acknowledge the crys of the majority of Egyptians.

Ditto to Harrison's post. Egypt and increasingly the region, under the control of religious fundamentalists who do not respect individual freedom or ruling democratic principles is not a promising prospect.. for the people themselves or the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, we have proven once again that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' as a core foreign policy is stupid...

I just witnessed unarmed peaceful being run over by armed government paid thugs on horseback live on Al-Jazzera.

These thugs were protected by a police escort and were ramming into the square without any reguard for the Women and Children who were there.

And your telling me this is a worthy price to preserve your freedom?

Remain Strong Eqyptians, trust in yourselves for my Government has abandoned you. Defend yourselves but do not play the agressor. If you hold the course through non-violence you will win your freedom and expose to the world what a shame the United States has become.

Pray for us, for one day we may suffer as you have. We have freedom at our fingertips, but many choose to live as slaves in an Illusion we call "Freedom".

Wake up America! Your still sleepwalking at the crossroads between sucess and ruin.

Right now we have some 'fog of war' and it is difficult to know what is really happening.

I hope for peace. It is a time of change in Egypt and other places in the world, and I hope it can be a peaceful change. I especially don't want people killing each other because they have been manipulated by outside interests.

I do not believe that repressive regimes are the answer to communism, terrorism, etc. A few recognizable names: Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein, Augusto Pinochet.

This news item would be funny, if it wasn't so sad. Remember the Iranian protests of Ahmadinejad's crooked election?

Ahmadinejad says Egypt, Tunisia were inspired by Iran's anti-Western protests
Washington Post, February 11, 2011; 5:41 PM
Article
Quote:
TEHRAN - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, speaking several hours before Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, urged Egyptians to continue their protests and to "free" themselves and choose their own leaders and their own form of government.

In a speech Friday during a large state-sponsored rally to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Iran's Islamic revolution, Ahmadinejad said that the uprisings in the Arab world have been inspired by his country's struggle against Western powers.
