"Herndon police officers will conduct a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint to deter and apprehend intoxicated or unlicensed drivers. The effort will be conducted in conjunction with the “CHECKPOINT STRIKEFORCE” effort that is ongoing in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC metropolitan region. The checkpoint will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 am. All motorists passing through the checkpoint will be screened for sobriety and proper licensing.

“CHECKPOINT STRIKEFORCE” is an intensive law enforcement mobilization to get impaired drivers off the roads. The official slogan for this year’s campaign is, “Over the limit, under arrest.”
