Fairfax County is studying future transportation needs county-wide, including within the Town of Herndon, and wants citizen input. A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 16, 6:30pm – 9:30pm at the Fairfax County Govt Center, 1200 Govt Center Pkwy, in Fairfax. For more info, visit the County's website.

| This meeting needs to include a serious discussion of traffic that will be diverting from the Dulles Toll Road because of much higher tolls that are about to be levied to pay for the Metro Silver Line. This traffic threatens to flood and totally jam the roads for miles to the north and south of the Toll Road, making them substantially worse even than they are now. People might want to look into this, before it happens in January 2013. |

Agreed! You can already see the impact the rising tolls on the Dulles Greenway has had on surrounding roads like Rt 7, Rt 28 and Rt 606.....misery, sheer misery.
I avoid the Greenway unless I'm going to all the way to the end or am running late. After paying $4.80 and $5.20 respectively to go 2 exits, I decline to use it as a regular traveler.
Can't imagine that Toll Road users will be much different and increased traffic on the residential streets will be a nightmare. |
