Frankly, I am sick of this sort of thing. It's long past time to enforce the law. What we have here is unequal protection under the law, and a total failure to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. (See the preamble to the US Constitution.)
Application of 287(g) as practiced in Herndon could have prevented this needless killing. People, it is time to get real.
Illegal immigrant shooter recently cited for carrying a concealed weapon
DC Examiner, November 10, 2008
Article
| Quote: | Just weeks before police say an illegal immigrant and alleged MS-13 gang member shot and killed a 14-year-old Silver Spring boy, the 20-year-old man was charged with concealing a dangerous weapon by a Montgomery County police officer, court records show.
The citation was issued on Oct. 3, a little less than a month before police say Hector Hernandez — an El Salvadoran illegal immigrant living in Takoma Park — opened fire on a Montgomery County bus, killing Tai Lam and wounding two other teens, ages 14 and 15.
Hernandez was with four or five other alleged gang members when he got on the bus in Silver Spring, police said. Other arrests are likely.
The two groups got into an argument on the bus and, as Hernandez was exiting near Piney Branch Road and Arliss Street, he pulled out a handgun and started shooting, police said.
The limited records available on the Internet do not say if Hernandez was taken into custody for hiding the weapon on Oct. 3. |

| The other day the news said his first offense was threatening some kids with a knife. Here's a hint law enforcement: If someone commits a violent crime, you do not let them go if you can't identify them. No charge for this hint. Feel free to use it in the future. |

| I'm sure they're far too busy using radar guns on people going 10mph over the limit. |

LMAO! Great one, Honch!
Or they are busy planning the next raid on Jimmy's Old Town to arrest people for being drunk in public...at a bar...

That 'raid' at Jimmy's (it was a few years ago) was really odd. Fairfax County police came into Herndon police jurisdiction because they got a complaint about an intoxicated woman.
Our government enforces what it pleases. And the result is not good. Not only were we flooded with overcrowded homes (until the citizens hit the roof, and the government reluctantly began to enforce those laws), but we have people getting hit and dragged to their deaths, and a teenage honor student getting shot and killed on a bus like this incident in Maryland, etc. And a few governments such as Fairfax County and up in Maryland, etc, continue blatantly to fail to enforce many laws where illegal immigration is involved.
When will we learn the lesson? When we look the other way, bad things happen. _________________ Government debt and deficits are robbing your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ |

| You know something that has been p*ssing me off, a LOT, over this is the news is referring to him as an "illegal alien" instead of their standard "undocumented immigrant". You can't have it both ways. |

That is interesting. What news media is that - the Washington Post, TV news, etc? I have not followed the reporting since I noted this case.
If the general news media is starting to report blatant illegal status in its crime reports, then something has definitely changed. And if that is true, it bodes well for the upcoming special election to replace Fairfax County's anti-enforcement Chairman Connolly, who just rode Mr. Obama's coattails to victory in his Congressional bid.
From what I have seen, I favor Patrick Herrity over Sharon Bulova for Fairfax County BOS Chairman.
Vienna Connection - Bulova To Run For Chairman - Republican Herrity may also throw his hat into the ring. _________________ Government debt and deficits are robbing your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ |

And, of course, Herrity is the one that HelpSaveHerndon called in to "chair" their meeting a few weeks ago.
If that means anything........ |

Yep. Unlike Bulova, Herrity is pro-enforcement. Having a pro-enforcement BOS Chairman would indeed be a much needed change in Fairfax County. _________________ Government debt and deficits are robbing your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. http://www.usdebtclock.org/ |

I've heard it or read it at least twice this week. I know for a fact that WUSA 9 news at 7 referred to him as an "illegal alien" last night. I usually watch WUSA 9 after I get home from work so they may have been where I heard the phrase used earlier in the week too. |
