Runnymede Park and Sugarland Run Cleanup Day:
Saturday April 21, 2012 - rain date is 4/28; from 8am-12pm.
Volunteers will be needed on April 2012 to help clean up the Sugarland Run stream in Herndon's Runnymede Park during the 24th Annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup Day. Individuals, students, families, scouts and other groups can help remove debris from local waterways and keep it from harming wildlife and our fragile ecosystem.
More than 100 volunteers participated last year in removing several tons of trash, debris and unwanted items. Those wishing to participate this year, should meet at the picnic shelter to sign-in and receive an assignment. All ages are welcome and the clean-up is held rain or shine. Boots, old clothes and gloves are recommended. Trash bags are provided. Interested groups or individuals should contact the Town Forester at 703-435-6800 x 2014 or at john.dudzinsky@herndon-va.gov. |
